Postal Cabinet of the Great Qing Postal Service On March 20, 1896, Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty approved the establishment of the Great Qing Imperial Post Office, marking the birth of modern postal services in China. At the same time, China issued its first set of postage stamps, the "Large Dragon Stamps". As a commercial hub near the canal transport wharf, Yandaixie Street also saw the emergence of a Great Qing postal counter.
